Northern Elite History

2001-2002
Northern Elite was founded in the spring of 2001 by Carin Boylan (Moore) and is a part of Gleason's Gymnastics in Eagan, MN. Northern Elite held tryouts over the course of a month and two teams were formed, a Junior All Girl and Senior Co-ed team. Over the summer months we doubled our enrollment and started competing in December.

Things looked bright for us our first year. We were able to finish most competitions with 1st and 2nd places. We ended our season attending the CTC National Competition in Tampa, Florida. Carin Boylan and Jennifer O'Hare were the coaches for the 2001-2002 season.

2002-2003
In 2002 we more then doubled our size since Nationals with over 70 boys and girls in the program. Two more teams were added to accommodate our fast growing program. A Pee Wee/Youth team and a Senior All Girl team were added to bring our teams up to 4!

Several new coaches came aboard with Northern Elite this year. Allison Vangsness (Pankratz) coached the Senior All Girl team and Co-ed team. Bridgette Winslow assisted with the Senior All Girl and the Senior Co-ed team. Greg Kroshus was added to coach the Junior team. And Sarah Hackman (Jenkins) and Alicia Snyder coached the Pee Wee/Youth team

All of our teams had a tremendous year. Our pee wee/youth team stole the crowd at every competition. The junior team placed 12th at the NASCC! Our coed team took first at 7 competitions. Our brand new All Girl team made it to the final round at the NASCC and placed 7th in their division! What a way to end a year!

2003-2004
Talent was overflowing at our 2003-2004 try-outs! We now had over 80 boys and girls involved in the program. Lisa Gutilla and Rhiannon Rockwell (Hove) joined the Northern Elite Staff as assistants for the Senior All Girl & Co-ed team (Lisa) and the Pee Wee/Youth & Junior teams (Rhiannon). Sarah Hackman became the head coach for our Pee Wee/Youth team and assisted our Junior team.

Things moved quickly this year for Northern Elite. Our Co-ed team started as a Small Co-ed team at tryouts, but quickly became a Large Co-ed team. This was the largest enrolment of boys in an All Star program in Minnesota to date. This was the most successful year so far. All of our teams were placing 1st & 2nd at all of their competitions. Our Pee Wee team attended the UPA Americup where they became National Champions in the Tiny Tot division! Our Junior and two Senior teams attended the NASCC in Orlando, Florida for their National Competition. Our Junior team placed 12th in the Small Junior division, All Girl team placed 9th in the Intermediate division, and our Co-ed team placed 9th in the Large Co-ed division! What a perfect way to finish our 3rd season.

2004-2005
We have made quite a few changes this year with our program. We have added a Youth team to our growing program, bringing our team total to 5.

There have been quite a few changes this year in our coaching staff. It is Northern Elite's goal to give the highest quality of training around, and to have the most experienced staff involved. We strive for "quality over quantity" with our teams, and pride ourselves in running a number one training facility.

Please stay posted as our competition season begins for new updates!
